Personal Style

In March last year I started my own fashion and personal style blog where I share my passion for clothing and my unique style. I am an eco-fashion designer and seamstress so I focus on sustainable issues and 90% of my clothing is second hand or locally made.

2013

Stage Challenge
I was the project manager and main designer of the costumes for Nayland College's 2013 Stage Challenge entry "O' Cisne Branco" a Rio carnival themed dance piece, with over 60 dancers, there were five different scenes plus the leads to design and make costumes for. It was a great experience that taught me alot about dealing with stress, managing other people, making decisions and working in the costume making field. Nayland College won 2nd place at the Nelson Tasman Stage Challenge Competition, and many awards including Excellence for Costuming Character.

Tailored Coat

My textiles project in 2012 was a tailored coat. I wanted to learn how to make fully lined coat from a bought pattern and add other details. These included three screen prints, the hood, lacing up the back and eyelet details around the cuffs.

2011

Corset Skirt

My textiles project in 2011 was a corset-skirt. I adjusted the corset from a bought pattern, added the buckles and zipper, and made the skirt out of four square pieces of fabric.
